What does it mean to be assertive?

Being assertive involves being able to say “no” when necessary, expressing our desires and needs without feeling guilt or shame, asking for help when we need it, giving our opinion without offending others, and knowing how to listen and respect others’ viewpoints.

Assertiveness is important in both our personal and professional relationships as it allows us to communicate effectively and establish healthy boundaries with others. It also helps improve our self-esteem and self-confidence by enabling us to express our thoughts and feelings clearly and respectfully.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the business communication seminar I attended. It truly was a transformative experience for me as the marketing director of the advertising agency where I work.

I learned a lot about how to communicate clearly and effectively, and how to approach challenging situations with confidence and respect. The practical focus and group exercises were truly helpful in understanding how to apply these concepts in my day-to-day work.

I am confident that what I learned in this seminar will have a positive impact not only on my career but also on my personal life. I would definitely recommend this seminar to anyone looking to improve their communication skills and become more assertive in their everyday life. Thank you again for this unique opportunity for personal and professional growth!

Enzo Cacciatore

Marketing Director, Global Advertising Agency

As the leader of the IT Project Office, I noticed that communication was not being clear, concise, and effective between Project Managers and Stakeholders, leading to rework in order to reach agreements and allow projects to progress.

The communication lab helped us develop and enhance the skill of organizing ideas and structuring words in a way that the message was conveyed effectively. In particular, the argumentation exercise through debates allowed the team to take different positions and find arguments to defend them, even when they didn’t personally agree with those positions. This exercise helped them put themselves in others’ shoes and understand their perspectives. These guided exercises by the professionals from Proyectum had a positive impact on the perception of communication and negotiation skills within the IT PM team, leading to improved project outcomes and enhancing cohesion among the different areas involved.
